NED gives Money & Mentoring for Neighborhood Businesses

Last month Mayor Sam Adams and Multnomah County Chair Jeff Cogen, in partnership with the Portland Development Commission, announced three new initiatives to infuse resources into neighborhood businesses and underserved Portland-area neighborhood business districts. One of these initiatives is the Small Business Development Program, developed by the City of Portland and PDC to grow and strengthen existing small businesses through technical assistance and training. A total of $450,000 was allocated among five non-profit organizations (listed below) to support assistance for approximately 150-200 businesses over the course of the next year.Take advantage of the City’s investment in neighborhood business professional development opportunities offered through one or more of these programs. Your business may be a candidate to receive a scholarship for the PDC Small Business Management Program ($1,600 value), a 10-session business training program which combines 30 hours of training with 20 hours of business advising.
