ABOUT EXPERIENCE MARKETING

How do you know that it’s time to create an Experience Marketing event as part of your ongoing marketing?

  • Do you find that you're not making much profit, while working long hours?

  • Is your business profitable, but not rewarding?

  • Has your advertising ever been a disappointment?

  • Are habitual marketing campaigns no longer bringing the same results?

  • Has a direct competitor moved into your neighborhood?

  • Or are you at the point where you simply can’t face another boring day at work?

If you answered yes to even one of these questions, then it’s time to plan an Experience Marketing event and give your customers a new experience.

It’s time to create a buzz!

It’s time to get more exposure!

It’s time to level up your business!

It’s time to give back and increase the size of your community!

It’s time to try a new, more exciting approach like Experience Marketing events!

How will you know if creating experiences through Experience Marketing events will work for your business?

Look around you, search the Internet, and find businesses like yours. See what they are doing and note how often they are hosting events, then see if their businesses are thriving. These businesses are your competitors and they aren’t just in your neighborhood, they are a growing presence online too. Start by attending others’ business marketing events and observing their results. This can be plain old fun, but it can also be an invaluable resource to learn tricks and possible partnerships. Take notes on what they’re doing, look for the smallest details that can be used in your events as you scale. That knowledge, those connections, can make hosting more events possible in your business.

If you’re ready to start now, open your calendar or community newsletter, however you access local events, and find out what it will take to participate in the events that are already naturally occurring in your world. The smartest Main Street  business owners don’t go off on their own until they’re well acquainted with what is already being tested in the market and they have willing partners. Use what you learn in this book to take advantage of annual street fairs or festival promotions being offered locally. You will learn what works, and what doesn’t, after joining fellow business owners for regular seasonal events. Host an Open House for the holidays or participate in a traditional Sidewalk Sale during the summer, online or in person, and learn the chops to be a master at Experience Marketing events.
